about the green kitchen

With 24 seats and 2 high chairs, we welcome families and dogs too.
We have a toilet & baby changing mat. All the products we use; for hand wash and cleaning are non-animal tested and eco-friendly.
We have free Wi-Fi, and accessible plug sockets if you need to re-charge your phone whilst you re-charge with a coffee.
There is free, un-restricted car-parking along the parade, but please take care with the higher-than-usual kerb.
We have a variety of toys and games and magazines for entertainment whilst your food is being prepared.
Everything we sell and serve is 100% vegan.

the difference

We stock a good range of ingredients, chilled goods, confectionery and snacks. We are very happy to order in items from our wholesaler, that you find difficult to source elsewhere.
We don’t use a microwave, all food is cooked to your order, we can adjust dishes to suit personal preference and requirements- don’t be afraid to ask!
We are very conscious of unnecessary food waste, so please let us know if you don’t like certain items, then we can substitute something you do like! We can also provide you with takeaway boxes, should the need arise for a ‘doggy bag’!
We are mindful of water usage, food miles and we recycle 95% of all our waste.
I make sponge cakes for your celebration, a few days notice is all that is required. Please see our ### with all the details.

The Community

Having been in a retail/customer focused environment all of my working life, I think it’s important for a business to be part of the local and wider community. So we have a notice board for appropriate business cards, flyers and posters. I am a member of Sustainable St. Albans, and take part in their annual week of activities.
We have twinned our cafe toilet with one in Nepal, through the charity “Toilet twinning” ###
We support Greenpeace and local good causes, and if you would like any leaflets or information on animal related subjects, vegan cookery recipes or vegan living; please ask!
The cafe can be rented for small group talks or meet-ups. We have hosted mindfulness classes, home education groups, vegan get togethers and network meetings.
